Environmental Innovation Prize 2018 – Call for proposals

Nominate your REALCYCLING & NEW SOURCES business model for the Environmental Innovation Prize 2018!

Sustainability in the textile chain is not a question of preferences of individual entrepreneurs. We only have one earth, so groundbreaking models for REALCYCLING and the use of NEW SOURCES that facilitate a non-exploitative textile industry must be introduced to a wider public.

That is why a sustainable innovation will receive the Environmental Innovation Prize 2018 at the Sustainable Textile School

The prize is awarded to practical and environmentally friendly proposals that deal with the downstream use of resources or high-quality recycling. The solutions shall contribute to saving resources or transfer them into closed material cycles. Furthermore, new sources or business models for high-quality, durable and sustainable textile products are taken into account.

Participation in the Environmental Innovation Prize 2018 is primarily open to projects, individuals and social initiatives that make a particular contribution to:

  • ground-breaking materials (biodegradable, cradle-to-cradle, promising impact on LCA, etc.)
  • procedures (machines, processes, and equipment, innovative and sustainable combination of products, technologies, and chemicals)
  • life cycle and utilization cascades
  • by-products and rebound effects
  • systemic embedding
  • access (impact, outcome, collecting points, etc.)
  • fair conditions.

Application procedure:

  • one-sided description of the textile innovation including at least one of the above-mentioned criteria (PDF, max. 3 Mb) sent to kaiser@sustainable-textile-school.com
  • application deadline: 15 July 2018

If needed, we get back to you and ask for further clarifications.

The Jury is a group of independent scientific researchers who belong to the chairs Corporate Environmental Management and Sustainability and Textile Technologies at the Chemnitz University of Technology.

All applications will be treated strictly confidential and only for the purpose of awarding innovative environmental ideas in the textile value chain.

We look forward to your contributions and hope to welcome and meet you in Chemnitz.
